Confiserie Philipp Hofer: Cafe in Solothurn

My husband and I went out for a coffee with friends from Schwyz.

We ordered “Tropical Mousse” and Solothurn special cake, “Solothurner kuchen”.

I have mentioned this cafe in another blog post.

Les Gourmandises de Miyuko : Cafe in Zurich

When I found this place several years ago, it was the only place I knew IMG_1350that served “Maccha Latte” in Zurich. I was very happy. The place is about 15-20 minutes walk from the Zurich main station. It is located at the quiet place and has a nice cosy atmosphere.

It is not so sweet, so it goes pretty well with other cakes offered in the shop.

“Vermicelles” means little worms in French, but it is a very tasty “chestnut torte” IMG_1801in Switzerland. In Japan, we call it “Mont Blanc”. It’s inspired by Monte Blanc mountains.

Today, we are here to celebrate friend’s birthday at Confiserie Philipp Hofer in Solothurn. You can have a cup of coffee either inside or outside. Fortunately it wasn’t too cold, so we took a place outside.
