Often I bake these scones because it takes less time and you don’t need different kinds of ingredients. Besides, you can prepare the day before and store it in the fridge and next morning, you can just bake it in the oven for about 20 minutes. We often eat scones for breakfast.
When I miss Japan, I tend to make Japanese food. One of my frequent recipes is rice cakes called mochi with sweet red beans. It is made from sticky rice powder. Since I still had some purple sweet potato powder left in a fridge, I mixed it with rice powder. It came out like this.. I could taste the purple sweet potato in mochi, but not so much.
